Name: Madeline @madeline

Age: 23

Location: Frankfort, Kentucky (for now!)

Occupation: Executive Assistant and Communications Specialist

Tell us a little about you! Hi! I'm Madeline and the executive assistant at Love Wellness! I am a social butterfly and love meeting new people more than most! Usually I live in New York City, I'm currently living life on a farm in Kentucky! I'm into everything woo-woo in wellness, am as Libra as a Libra gets, and have a dream to have my own cooking show (I first need cooking lessons but one day!).

What does your morning routine look like?

7:00 am - Alarm goes off, snooze it.

7:15 am - Second alarm goes off, snooze it.

7:30 am- Third times the charm, I open my eyes, slightly annoyed (I'm someone who typically wakes up on the wrong side of the bed as I'm not a morning person). In the morning, I reach for my Daily Stoic book and read the day's passage. I try to  not look at texts, social media, or email in the morning because it gives me anxiety to rush into my day too quickly.

8:15 am - After laying in bed for a bit, I finally roll out and change into today's athleisure look (I'm into biker shorts and XL t-shirts these days). I'll do a touch of skincare, specifically under eye patches to de-puff, a little oil and gua-sha, and finally SPF, and then brush my teeth with my Quip toothbrush.

8:30 am - I head to the kitchen and make my coffee. Pro-tip: get a frother if you want a coffee shop experience from home

10:00 am - I like to wait a few hours before eating breakfast. I wouldn’t say I intermittent fast, but I like to settle into how I’m feeling versus eat a meal immediately.  My go-to is this unreal yogurt bowl that I'm super specific about. Must be plain, honey, or vanilla greek yogurt (ideally Noosa), and must have berries, at least one nut butter, chia seeds, and granola.

What does your nighttime routine look like? Ok is it bad that this changes every single night? The only consistent thing about my nighttime routine is accidentally spending 30 minutes on Tik Tok. Oops! When I do my full ""wellness"" routine, it looks like this:

9pm- I've worked out after work and had a healthy dinner but now it's time to shower. I'll exfoliate, wash my hair, the whole 9 yards. I love a hot hot hot shower. I’m all about following my shower with my skincare routine and self tanner.

10:00 pm - Phone goes on “Do Not Disturb” mode.

10:30 pm - I love to read or journal at night. I don't have the patience for TV so I rarely watch any shows or movies. If I'm not reading, I'm scrolling on Tik Tok or YouTube.

11:00 pm - Lights Out!

How do you de-stress? Unplug. My phone causes all of my stress so anything I can do that doesn't let me to look at it ultimately de-stresses me. Cooking and baking for this reason help to de-stress me. Sometimes you'll find me baking banana bread or chocolate chip cookies at 11pm just because it centers me.

Baking is my favorite!

I also hang out with my cats whom I think have healing powers.

What's your best kept beauty secret? Self-tanner. I love the Lux Unfiltered one but can also get behind the Jergens Mousse one. It's that little pick-me-up that makes all the difference.

ALSO, by using self-tanner I end up not having to sit in the sun which ultimately means no wrinkles for me!

What does your AM-PM food blog look like?

8:00 am - Coffee!

10:00 am - Yogurt bowl or a fruit smoothie

12:00 pm- A homemade salad or sandwich. I'm big into keeping it simple for lunch.

4:00 pm - Snack time! I love having an apple or chips and hummus.

7:00 pm - Dinner! I will make anything from homemade pizza to sautéed veggies and sausage to grain bowls! Hello Fresh or Green Chef are two meal delivery services I've tried that I think are worth it.

What's your all time guilty pleasure? I love to stay up late and sleep in REALLY late. I really just love sleeping in.

What's your all time favorite self-care tip? Taking care of your mind is just as important as taking care of your body. I purposely avoid things I know that will give my anxiety or stress. I'm learning to set boundaries to help with this too. Give yourself space when you need it and learn to say no (this is a work in progress for me too).

What's a wellness challenge you’ve faced or continue to face? Setting boundaries and saying no are things I struggle with on a daily basis. Life is all about finding balance and if you work yourself to the bone or are too relaxed, both can be a problem.

What do you do in your daily routine to make you feel empowered? Putting my phone on "Do Not Disturb" at 10pm. It’s a boundary and it’s empowers me to set it and take the time for myself in the evening.

What advice would you give someone facing the same challenges as you? Forgive yourself every single day. You’re only human and you can only do your best. In general, be kinder to yourself :)

What's the best advice you’ve ever received about self-care or what wellness is? Taking care of yourself (body, mind, and spirit) is productive.

How do you Love Yourself Well?

I love myself well by doing things that make me feel better, taking care of my brain as best as possible, forgiving myself, and being my own best friend.
