Tell us a little about you! Hi Love Club! I am a fitness trainer and pre/postnatal specialist that lives in NYC. I’ve been lucky enough to travel the country for fitness and work with a ton of clients, but there’s no place that I love as much as NY. I’m constantly learning to adapt, especially in these crazy times! I’ve taught myself how to start a podcast (Not My Best), and launched a fitness app with my best friend (The Strong Collective) as a result of fitness studios closing down during the pandemic. I’m also a mom to be, and have a little girl due in February. :)
What does your morning routine look like? I’ve grown to love mornings! I truly look forward to my cup of morning coffee with steamed oat milk. I carve some time for myself to start slowly, and always eat breakfast. After a little bit of quiet, I’ll get ready for the day, and tackle the hardest things on my to- do list first.
What does your nighttime routine look like? I’ll try to make a healthy dinner, because it’s usually followed by dessert - ice cream has been my biggest craving during pregnancy! The night usually ends watching Netlflix with my husband. We’re currently on season 3 of Money Heist.
How do you de-stress? I move my body! Even 15 minutes of a workout will put me into a better mood. Getting fresh air always helps, too.
What's your best kept beauty secret? Lots of water, and knowing that feeling beautiful is more important than looking it.
What does your AM-PM food blog look like? Breakfast: My go to lately is chia pudding topped with pears, and toast with almond butter
Lunch: A big salad with chicken, lots of veggies, and oil and vinegar
Dinner: I could eat tacos every night. I make sure to use low sodium seasoning and almond flour tortillas, or I make a taco bowl with quinoa. Extra hot sauce.
Snacks: chips and guac, chocolate covered pretzels, ice cream, and apples
What's your all time guilty pleasure? Ben and Jerry’s Phish Food
What's your all time favorite self-care tip? Unplug when you need to. The world can be really noisy and overstimulating. It’s so important to find some time each day to be fully present.
What's a wellness challenge you’ve faced or continue to face? My body is going through crazy changes while pregnant. It’s so beautiful, but still difficult. Body positivity/neutrality is more important than ever. I’m always at 100mph, but pregnancy has also decreased my endurance and forced me to slow down. All for amazing reasons, but it’s definitely a mental game!
What do you do in your daily routine to make you feel empowered? I lift weights to feel strong. There’s no feeling like the one after a workout, and you can take that feeling with you throughout your day.
What advice would you give someone facing the same challenges as you? Be kind to yourself! Remind yourself daily that you’re doing what you can, and that’s more than enough.
What's the best advice you’ve ever received about self-care or what wellness is? Self care looks different every day. Yes, some days it’s a workout and a salad, but on other days it might be rest and pizza. Staying in tune with your body is the most important.
How do you Love Yourself Well? By going with the flow and knowing that no challenge is too big!
